London Metropolitan University's Digital Forensics and Cyber Security (Foundation Year) BSc (Hons) degree has a preparatory year designed to help students build key skills in digital forensics and cyber security. This will help them in the following years of their course.
In the foundation year students will become familiar with cyber security, communication, design, mathematics and programming. This introduction will help assess students' interests and prepare them for modules at a higher level. The foundation year in this course is shared with some of the other foundation year degrees, meaning in Year 0 students will get to study with other students interested in a number of different areas.
They’ll be trained in the protection against, as well as the detection and conviction of, digital crimes. They’ll also gain competencies in software and hardware in weekly practical demonstrations. They’ll experience demonstrations from external software vendors and have access to London Met's Cyber Security Research Centre, which will allow them to study alongside industry partners and work on live projects.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
