Become a spatial planning expert with the ability to advise clients on the effective use of land and an understanding of local authority controls relating to many aspects of policy, including transportation, communities, the environment and the quality of the built environment.
Students will study the rationale behind spatial planning and they will be encouraged to reflect on their own work as they develop their self-awareness and explore the ethics of planning practice.
Whether they are involved in planning in the public, private or voluntary sectors, this is an opportunity to enhance their professional development, build on their existing education or qualifications and extend their knowledge of spatial planning.
After graduating, students will be able to apply for full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute once they have completed two years of relevant planning experience and its Assessment of Professional Competence.
