This course is designed for theatre and performance makers by artists with backgrounds in theatre, performance, arts education, and/or socially engaged practice. Students will be guided by a team of research active, internationally acclaimed staff who are dedicated to the significance of theatre and performance.
Throughout this course, students will:
- Approach the creation of new theatre and performance work with informed, critical, and creative perspectives
- Explore the practical and conceptual foundations of theatre and performance
- Learn within a diverse range of performance communities
- Engage in a supportive, artist-centered learning environment that values culture-based and practice-led research
- Connect with like-minded individuals interested in producing compelling performance work
- Receive support to participate in national and international festivals to enhance their work
- Develop the ability to critically assess their own work and that of their peers to enhance performance
- Become part of a community dedicated to collaborative inquiry into theatre and performance practice.
