This course provides a comprehensive overview of the theory and practice of relationships, as well as the utilization of therapeutic counselling and psychotherapy skills with clients. Approved by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), it equips students with the necessary abilities to pursue a career as a professional counsellor or psychotherapist. Successful completion of the course enables students to register with the BACP and attain recognition as a qualified counsellor.
Throughout the course, students will:
- Identify their strengths and areas for improvement through clinical practice, fostering the development of capable and self-reflective practitioners
- Receive training in delivering therapy via online platforms, such as video conferencing and phone sessions
- Engage in various learning methods, including full class lectures and small group skills development sessions where they can practice and record their interactions in our communications suite
- Learn how to conduct research, develop a research proposal, and complete a dissertation within a chosen subject area or specialization.
