This course has a strong vocational focus and will develop key skills in economics, accounting and management. Students will explore the principles of economics and how they apply to business, and you will gain both a theoretical and practical understanding of the economic decisions faced by business managers. They will also develop the ability to analyse the economic and social environments in which those decisions are taken.
This course offers the opportunity to take a ‘sandwich’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build their skills and experience. This is usually taken between the second and third year of your degree, typically making their course four years in total. Students who choose the sandwich route find it helps with both their studies and getting a job after graduation. It can build their confidence, contacts, and of course their CV. Leeds Beckett advertise lots of placement opportunities and provide support in helping students find the right placement for themselves.
