3-Term Pathway - Pre-Master's in Social Sciences and Law - Continue to Master of Arts - Politics and Philosophy

This program will prepare students for entry to a postgraduate degree in a wide range of subjects at Lancaster University, including law, design and a world top 10 linguistics program (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023).

This interdisciplinary programme offers students the opportunity to undertake sustained and focused study in the disciplines of politics and philosophy. With a number of staff working across Philosophy and Politics, the programme typically covers a variety of approaches to the study of both Philosophy and Politics

Students will take five taught modules each assessed by a 5,000 word essay. The programme culminates in the writing of a 20,000-word dissertation in a subject area of their own choosing that has been agreed in partnership with an academic supervisor.

Throughout this programme the intention is to enable students to develop their  research and analytical skills, skills that could be used in a range of careers. The programme can also provide a foundation for those looking to pursue academic careers.
