This program will prepare students for entry to a postgraduate degree in a wide range of subjects at Lancaster University, including law, design and a world top 10 linguistics program (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023).

Media culture is changing at a rapid pace. New technologies, platforms and organisations emerge while others are threatened with extinction. What are the implications? What specialist skills are needed to develop?

At the heart of digital innovation

On the programme, students look at the culture, society and theories that bring new ideas to the media industry. They’ll explore issues around digital technology and identity, develop high-level skills in critical analysis and get hands-on experience in areas like digital journalism and visual storytelling.

Some modules include practical assessment such as creating a video or documentary, where students will consider the theory behind what they produce. It’s this combination of knowledge and skills that employers find so valuable – and that puts graduates in a prime position to work in this exciting and rapidly changing industry.
