About Extended Accelerator Program - Bachelor's Degree - Elementary or Secondary Education
The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) is a three-semester program that includes an immersive English-learning experience. The program gives students firsthand practical and cultural understanding of the Gonzaga University campus and the Spokane area through its contextual curriculum. Upon successful completion of the program, students progress into the second year of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.
Teacher Certification/Teacher Candidates seeking Elementary Education Certification can receive an Elementary endorsement and teach grades K-8 as generalists in a self-contained classroom. Secondary Education Certification candidates can teach grades 5-12 and choose a specific content area (endorsement) to teach. The content area must be selected from one of the following approved endorsements offered at Gonzaga University: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language Arts, Health and Fitness, Mathematics, Music, Special Education, Social Studies, Theater Arts, and designated World Languages. Additional endorsements are encouraged.
