Master of Arts - Education - Dual Language Learning

The MA in Education: DLL option and the DLL certificate program are designed for educators with CA preliminary and clear credentials who committed to justice and equity in inclusive Bilingual and Multilingual PK–12 settings. This program supports teachers as they develop their skills and knowledge as educational researchers grounded in translanguaging and multilingualism through frameworks related to community cultural wealth, intersectionality, and culturally/linguistically responsive pedagogy.

Students will gain hands-on experience and develop their professional networks at CSUDH's partner SDLP (Spanish dual languages programs) in the nearby school districts with highly effective bilingual and multilingual educators through the 20 hours practicum requirement. Students enrolled in MA programs within the COE and CSUDH may add the DLL Certificate to a graduate degree to demonstrate added areas of expertise. Courses are offered in Spanish. Pathway for teachers with CA preliminary and clear credentials to earn the Bilingual Authorization in Spanish.
