Welcome to California State University Dominguez Hills Department of Theater and Dance. Located in Carson, California, the department is well situated between LA and Orange Counties with prime industry access in both marketplaces. What makes the Department of Theater and Dance outstanding is the engagement with student success. The faculty takes the time to get to know students, helping them develop their skills and interests, exposes them to new opportunities, and helps create their professional network. CSUDH has a culturally and professionally diverse faculty committed to training and providing professional performance opportunities for students of the Global Majority. Each year, the department strives to produce main stage theater and dance productions that foreground the experience of marginalized groups. This includes a focus on the Global Majority and LGBTQ + works. CSUDH regularly brings in guest artists to work with the students, help them learn new skills, and connect them with professionals in the industry.
