In this course, students will learn to solve every day organisational and end-user problems by analysing, designing and developing technical solutions. Students will develop their computing skills by exploring different computing technologies, and will learn how to become a great problem solver. They will gain experience in developing front and back-end web systems, along with mobile and desktop applications using a variety of programming languages and frameworks.
In addition to learning core computing skills, students will be able to tailor their degree to the areas of computing which most interest them and their career ambitions. Students will also gain valuable work experience on their placement if they choose to take one.
Career opportunities are broad and can include roles such as software engineer, web developer, IT analyst, or network engineer.
This is one of eight undergraduate computing courses that are offered at Bournemouth University. As BU understands that it can be difficult to know what area students would like to specialize in, all of these courses share a common first year, giving students the time to really explore the subject before deciding on a specialism. Students only need to apply for one of the courses in the framework and they will have the opportunity to change their final degree title during study with BU.
