Program Description
This well-established and cutting-edge course will give students the skills and guidance needed to develop successful commercial products. Students will be encouraged to take a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving, while also addressing the functional, social and economic needs of their design. BU's dedicated staff will give students all the skills and guidance they need to develop successful commercial products. In the final students will create a fully-functioning prototype of a product they designed and exhibit this at BU's annual Festival of Design & Engineering.
During their time studying on this degree students will learn all the practical skills necessary to work in the sector as well as examining the theory behind product design, so that when they graduate they'll have a balanced view of the product development process to complement their practical experience. Students can spend year 3 on a work placement, gaining a minimum of 30 weeks’ experience in a relevant industry.
