About Master's Accelerator - Track 1 - Master of Science - Mechanical Engineering

The Master’s Accelerator Program is a two-semester program exclusively offered to aspirational international students. Master’s Accelerator students benefit from comprehensive support and language for discipline-specific purposes. The curriculum will include advanced writing, public speaking, and research instruction. Each course is designed to help ensure success at Auburn. The small class sizes, hands-on and interactive programs, and unique curriculum are designed to help students progress seamlessly into their master’s degree program. Master’s Accelerator students will be enrolled as full-time students during both semesters of the Master’s Accelerator Program and will earn 9 credits toward their selected degree.

Mechanical engineers focus on the design and operation of machinery and the prediction of machine behavior in industries such as transportation, power generation, energy conversion, environmental control, materials processing and materials. Materials engineers focus on problems associated with the design of materials and materials processes to meet specific needs in a wide range of industries. Career opportunities abound with traditional manufacturers.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering take great pride in providing the best possible educational experience for all of its graduate students. By combining broad fundamental understanding, as found in the core graduate courses, with specialized skills obtained in more advanced graduate courses, the foundation for a successful research experience is guaranteed.
