The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) may be completed in a few as three semesters and is for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience.
The program gives students a firsthand, practical, and cultural understanding of the American University campus and the Washington, DC, area through its contextual curriculum. Students may enter the program in the spring or fall and progress into year two of their undergraduate education with up to a full year’s worth of academic credits. Depending on their intended degree, they may choose their elective curriculum in social sciences, humanities, or the sciences.
The Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Audio Technology Program focuses on both the art and the science of audio and music technology. With American University's strong core courses in sound synthesis, audio production, digital audio workstations, electronics, and physics, they are unique in their approach to blending the art and science in audio in the context of an educational program.
The program's close association with the Departments of Computer Science, Physics, and Performing Arts allows students to explore different aspects of the discipline, including practical work experience, while active working relationship with American University's School of Communication enables students to gain practical experience as well as further interdisciplinary perspectives.
