About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Audio Technology
The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) may be completed in as few as two semesters and is designed specifically for students who are ready to succeed in immersive English-speaking classrooms.
The Academic Accelerator program gives students a firsthand, practical, and cultural understanding of the American University campus and the Washington, DC, area through its contextual curriculum. They may enter the program in the spring or fall and progress into year two of their undergraduate education with up to a full year’s worth of academic credits. Depending on their intended degree, they may choose their elective curriculum in social sciences, humanities, or the sciences.
The Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Audio Technology Program focuses on both the art and the science of audio and music technology. With American University's strong core courses in sound synthesis, audio production, digital audio workstations, electronics, and physics, they are unique in their approach to blending the art and science in audio in the context of an educational program.
The program's close association with the Departments of Computer Science, Physics, and Performing Arts allows students to explore different aspects of the discipline, including practical work experience, while active working relationship with American University's School of Communication enables students to gain practical experience as well as further interdisciplinary perspectives.
