Award Details

  • Total Awards: 15 scholarships annually
    • 5 awards for January intake ($1,000 each)
    • 7 awards for September intake ($1,000 each)
    • 3 awards for May intake ($1,000 each)
  • Unused awards may be carried forward to the next available term.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Bangladesh Language Excellence Entrance Award, applicants must:

  • Be an international student from Bangladesh holding a valid Study Permit
  • Be registered full-time in any post-secondary program at Fanshawe College for the first time
  • Be enrolled in level 1 or the first semester with advanced standing
  • Meet the English language requirements with an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with no band less than 6.5

Selection Process

  • Award recipients are selected by the International Centre each semester based on the highest qualifying IELTS scores and availability of funds.
  • If necessary, the student’s GPA from their previous institution may be considered to determine the final selection.

Award Disbursement

  • The award is granted upon successful completion of level 1, defined as achieving a minimum GPA of 2.0 and progressing to level 2.
  • Disbursement schedule:
    • October for May intake recipients
    • February for September intake recipients
    • June for January intake recipients
  • Awards are disbursed either by cheque or applied directly to outstanding tuition fees for the current semester.
