Master of Science - Artificial Intelligence - Robotics-Engineering Focused AI (Non-thesis)

Worcester Polytechnic Institute offers a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence designed to prepare students for the transformative opportunities AI presents across nearly all sectors of the economy. Leveraging decades of AI expertise, the program emphasizes project-based learning and culminates in either a capstone project or a master’s thesis, enabling students to develop and deploy AI techniques responsibly in this rapidly evolving field.

Students will build in-demand skills in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, generative AI, robotics planning, computer vision, and responsible AI. The program benefits from WPI’s rich history of advancing AI innovations through impactful project collaborations with industrial partners.

With an interdisciplinary approach, students can tailor their coursework by selecting from academic units across the campus, allowing for personalized specialization. The curriculum is complemented by team-based capstone projects with industry mentors, providing real-world experience in developing, deploying, and innovating AI systems.

Students can choose from thirteen specializations, including AI & Security, AI & Health, and AI & Software Systems, among others. Throughout the program, students will learn from renowned faculty who are leaders in industry and research, actively working on cutting-edge projects that address critical societal and economic challenges.
