The B.A. in Theatre Design & Technology at Wilkes introduces the student to all aspects of theatre along with a strong foundation of studies in the liberal arts. Whether students are interested in becoming a theatre professional, furthering their education with graduate study or have plans to use their theatre and design skills in a related profession, Theatre Design & Tech at Wilkes can help students get to the next step in their theatre career.
Wilkes students have the opportunity to explore all facets of design and technology through coursework offered in all areas of theatre design and production. Opportunities to act, sing and dance are always available to the Design & Tech student as well. Training involves active participation in the production of four main stage shows each year along with the opportunity to design student directed black box productions. With an emphasis on “hands-on” learning and weekly production laboratories, Wilkes offers students real experience with state of the art equipment under the mentorship of talented and caring professionals.
In addition to completing the required coursework, students enrolled in the Design & Technology program participate in a portfolio review at the end of sophomore year. In senior year, each student produces an independent mentored work as a Senior Capstone Project.
