Bachelor of Arts - Integrated Computer Science

Computers are now an integral part of today's society and there are very few academic disciplines that do not use computers in some fashion.

The Integrated Computer Science program adheres to Whittier’s mission of offering a broad liberal education while emphasizing interdisciplinarity and connections, in particular, the connection between computer science and one other field of study. Whittier College aims to educate future computer scientists who have the technical skills, the global perspectives, and the social and cultural insight that is needed to use computers creatively and ethically.

The structure of any major within the program is a core of math and computer science courses totaling 27 credits, a set of 6 courses in the coordinate discipline plus any additional course requirements that the coordinate discipline feels necessary. Currently, there are three majors within the ICS program, namely ICS/Math, and ICS/Physics, and ICS/Economics.
