About Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Chemistry
The Chemistry curriculum is designed to provide a sound theoretical background in the principles of chemistry complemented by hands-on laboratory experiences. Students have the opportunity to acquire the chemical knowledge and laboratory skills enabling them to perform synthesis as well as characterize organic and inorganic compounds utilizing chemical, spectrophotometric, chromatographic, and advanced instrumental methods of analysis.
A baccalaureate degree in chemistry provides graduates with diverse career opportunities and also prepares them for advanced studies in chemistry and related fields. Graduates are employed as chemical research associates in industrial, governmental, clinical, and environmental settings. Others pursue a career teaching chemistry or in chemical sales. Many graduates pursue advanced degrees in chemistry, biochemistry, medical sciences, and other related disciplines.
