About Master of Science - Finance - Corporate Financial Planning and Analytics

Are you looking to fast track your career and work in finance, asset management, investment banking or computational finance? Then the M.S. in Finance is right for you. The 30-credit-hour program gives you the foremost analysis skills needed to advance to leadership positions in finance quickly. And our three concentrations allow you to customize your program to fit your goals. Choose from corporate financial planning and analysis, securities and markets, or data analytics in finance.

Earning a Master of Science in Finance from Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business will open a world of opportunities for you in the fiduciary services industry. The program is designed to give you the advanced analysis skills you need to accelerate your career in finance, asset management, investment banking and computational finance. Our program features the following:

  • An accelerated program that allows students with an undergraduate business degree to complete their master's in one year.

The M.S. in Finance provides a variety of skills needed to excel in finance fields. Professionals must possess the ability to analyze and interpret financial data, make decisions as a result of data and drive organizational priorities.

WMU’s program offers three possible concentrations that lead to distinct career paths: corporate financial planning and analysis, securities and markets, or data analytics in finance. It's up to you to decide how to advance your career—and if one of these concentrations is a fit for your future:

  • M.S. in Finance, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FFPM): This concentration includes 12 credit hours covering topics such as financial strategy, financial operations, financial restructuring and risk management.
  • M.S. in Finance, Securities and Markets (FSMM): This concentration includes 12 credit hours covering topics such as global financial markets and institutions, equity analysis, fixed income analysis and risk management.
  • M.S. in Finance, Data Analytics in Finance (FDAM): This concentration includes 12 credit hours covering topics such as business data management, visual analytics, and predictive analytics and data mining.
