Program Description
In grade 10, students explore the arts, Canadian and world studies, classical studies, international languages, health and physical education, mathematics, native languages, native studies, fundamentals of sciences, social sciences and humanities, and technological education.ESL Support
Urban International School has an ESL program which includes 5 levels: ESLAO, ESLBO, ESLCO, ESLDO, and ESLEO. Each level is 10 weeks long. Students are required to take an English placement test and are placed in one of the ESL levels, if required.
Please note that if a student is placed in the ESLAO, ESLBO, or ESLCO level, they are unable to take any other high school credit courses because of the challenge associated. They cannot take high school credit until they have reached the ESLDO level. Students who are placed in ESLDO or ESLEO may take one or two other courses at the same time.
The cost of ESL is $3,360 per level.
