Bachelor of Science - Fashion and Retail

University of Wisconsin (UW) -Stout’s Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design & Development program emphasizes current industry practices, internship opportunities, and career placement. You’ll explore real-world aspects of the fashion industries including market research, planning, designing, developing, and marketing. Fashion Design & Development prepares students for the apparel, soft goods, and footwear industries. Students will experience hands-on skill development in all ready-to-wear categories including sportswear, knitwear, safety & technical products and special occasions. 

Our students gain experience working on real-world projects with a unique combination of design and technology. To meet the needs of the fashion and industry, the program offers students the opportunity to focus on market research, creative design, technical design, quality analysis, textiles, color and print development, digital three-dimensional design and fabrication, garment engineering, global sourcing, and manufacturing.
