Program Description
Forensic Science is the degree for the 21st century and University of Windsor’s program is ahead of its time. This program will train students to investigate and analyze evidence from crimes ranging from homicide to abuse, and from fraud to hacking. University of Windsor have the latest technology — biometric scanners, laser scanners, computerized fingerprint scanning, security document scanners, and more and will supplement their classroom learning with mock crime scenes and labs and students will get training in scientific methodologies and crime scene investigation from a variety of professionals, including academics, police officers, lawyers and expert witnesses.
- Appropriately handling, packaging, and recording relevant details of crime scene artifacts
- Taking careful original measurements based on established practices and regulations
- Operating advanced scientific laboratory equipment and instruments
- Understanding chemical/molecular/biological properties in terms of their relevance to forensic science
- Integrating legal considerations into specific scientific fields with an emphasis on adhering to stringent ethical standards
- Understanding legal structures and the organization of the criminal justice system from historical, sociological, and legal perspectives
- Implementing appropriate techniques for studying material evidence
