Program Description
Students will study a wide variety of musical genres. The program’s home is in the University of Windsor's amazing School of Creative Arts, a beautifully renovated historic armouries building. The University of Windsor keeps class sizes small so the university's faculty can give students' talent the attention it deserves. Students have the option of combining their music studies with another discipline.
Students will learn:
- Creating, arranging, playing, and editing music across genres for diverse audiences and purposes
- Designing, staging, managing, and otherwise overseeing effective musical performances
- Analyzing and assessing live and recorded music for formal/technical quality of expression
- Explaining fundamental musical techniques to others
- Assessing and appreciating the respective sociocultural roles of various musicians and schools of music
- Appreciating the respective roles of various public and private musical organizations and stakeholders
