Program Description
The English Language and Literature and Political Science combined program provides students with training in both English and political science.
In studying English literature, students will encounter the immense range of human experience as expressed across many historic periods and cultures, from traditional to contemporary writing from around the world. Through this program, students will learn to assert knowledge, ideas, and opinions in persuasive writing with correct grammar and vocabulary.
Through political science, students will study power – who holds it, how it is exercised, how they can influence and gain access to power, and how lives are influenced by politicians, bureaucrats, and other politically important institutions (including the courts, the Constitution, domestic and international organizations, etc.) and individuals. Through this program, students will explore the political, economic, social and environmental issues in Canada and around the world.
