Program Description
The English Language Literature and French Studies combined program allows students to train in both English and French. In studying English literature, students will encounter the immense range of human experience as expressed across many historic periods and cultures, from Anglo-Saxon oral tradition through to contemporary writing in English from around the world. This program allows students to understand the ways in which language and literature inform and reflect various cultures, social bodies, and historical periods.
Through French Studies, students can master a second language and gain an invaluable advantage, especially in Canada’s bilingual workforce. Students will gain a varied and comprehensive course of study including courses in language training, linguistics, the literatures and the cultures of the francophone world.
