Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Film Production

What sets the UoW's approach apart is the combination of creative freedom with professional discipline. Students will have access to equipment throughout the entire year, allowing them to experiment, take risks, and develop their unique voice as a filmmaker. The University of Winchester's community-centred approach means first-years work alongside third-years in their shared multimedia workspace, creating a collaborative environment where knowledge flows freely between peers.

Students will be exposed to the entire production ecosystem. One-of-a-kind large-scale production module places students in teams of 24, mirroring industry practice where they will take on specialised roles like script supervisor, first AD, or grip. This practical understanding of how film sets function gives Winchester graduates a significant advantage in industry.

As part of the School of Creative Performance and Production, students will work directly with acting students, composers, and other creative practitioners. This interdisciplinary approach reflects how the industry actually operates and gives them experience directing performers, coordinating creative teams, and solving production challenges in real time.
