Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Arts - Russian

Program Description

The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) combines language, culture and academics to give students a deep understanding of life in and out of the American classroom and includes personalized English-language instruction and tutoring.

Students in the Extended Accelerator receive:

• A contextual curriculum that mixes language, culture and academics
• Exclusive access to a course focusing on life in the U.S. and in the local community
• A full year’s worth of college credits
• Extensive English-language tutoring, academic advising and student support
• Personalized English-language support specific to the classes they take

With a major or minor in Russian, students will learn how to speak and understand the Russian language, and they will also gain a deeper understanding of Russia and Russian-speaking countries. Russia has a rich, proud history and culture, making it perfect for examination in an academic environment. Through the study of Russian language, literature, and society, students will develop critical thinking skills, cross-cultural understanding, and social awareness. The program curriculum includes four semesters of Russian language courses, and instruction then continues with advanced language classes and coursework in phonetics and morphology, as well as Russian history, literature, and culture. The skills and knowledge students gain from the Russian program will prepare thm for a number of international and domestic careers.
