Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Arts - Film and Media Arts

The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) combines language, culture and academics to give students a deep understanding of life in and out of the American classroom and includes personalized English-language instruction and tutoring.

Students in the Extended Accelerator receive:

• A contextual curriculum that mixes language, culture and academics
• Exclusive access to a course focusing on life in the U.S. and in the local community
• A full year’s worth of college credits
• Extensive English-language tutoring, academic advising and student support
• Personalized English-language support specific to the classes they take

If students have a passion for filmmaking and are interested in movies and media, they can consider studying Film & Media Arts at the University of Utah. This program offers students the opportunity to examine the visual art form. Through a series of courses covering the history, aesthetics, and criticism of the motion picture, students gain critical thinking skills and hands-on experience in film and video production. Students will be exposed to cinema from around the world, exploring genres such as narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation. Electives in women directors, film diversity, film genres, animation, storyboarding, sound, screenplay writing, and other topics are also available. Students have the opportunity to focus their studies in one of three emphases: Animation, Film Production, or Media Arts Production. Whether students prefer to hone their skills in animation, traditional filmmaking, or immersive media, the Film & Media Arts program at the U will prepare them to join the next generation of visual innovators.
