Double Degree - Bachelor of Education - Secondary & Bachelor of Science (082694G)

Program Description

Specialist science and mathematics teachers are in demand across Australia. This double degree lets students combine their passion for science with five-star teaching skills, qualifying them to teach students in Years 7-12. Specialise in two teaching areas such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, geography or psychology, and learn how to plan lessons, assess students, and manage a classroom of students. Students will have the opportunity travel to rural and remote areas for a teaching placement and learn to teach a diverse range of students in varied educational settings.

In this program students will:

• Complete 80 days of supervised teaching in local schools (and in rural and remote setting if desired)
• Gain curriculum and pedagogy knowledge and skills in two teaching areas
• Learn how to plan lessons, assess students, and manage a classroom
• Be provided the opportunity to experience different school settings and learners by taking a trip to rural and remote areas
• Attend professional development seminars to enhance your professional knowledge
• Gain eligibility to become a member of the Queensland College of Teachers
