Bachelor of Arts - Journalism

New journalism graduates will be joining a dynamic program with student-run media outlets across multiple platforms: Web, radio, television and print. The Minaret, University of Tampa’s student newspaper, has a legacy of award-winning journalism, with accolades from the Florida College Press Association, the Associated College Press and the Society of Professional Journalists. They also eagerly anticipate The Minaret’s glossy magazines printed every semester.

After graduation, University of Tampa journalism alumni get hired by top media outlets such as NPR and attend prestigious journalism graduate schools such as the City University of New York. However, in addition to laying the foundation for a career in the news media, the journalism major also offers graduates a skill-set and knowledge base that enable them to succeed in law school, the education sector, politics, publishing, PR, advertising and many other areas.
