Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Computer Science (Top-up)

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science Top-Up is designed to provide HND Computing graduates with an opportunity to advance their studies at an undergraduate level through specialist modules aligned with potential career paths. These include fields such as cloud-based technologies, internet and web management, data analytics, and network computing.

This one-year top-up course enables students to progress from an HND qualification to a full Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Students can choose to specialise in areas such as networking, emerging technologies, web applications, and data technologies. They will have the opportunity to select their own dissertation title to pursue as their final year project.

The course aims to help students realize their full potential by offering degree-level education in Computer Science that is relevant, research-informed, and at the cutting edge of knowledge and practice. It will equip students with proficiency in programming languages, system design methods, and techniques.

Graduates will be prepared to apply their skills across various sectors of the dynamic and expanding global Computing Industry, including e-commerce, networking, software development, IT project management, website development, and roles such as systems analysts and systems designers. Upon successful completion of the BSc (Hons) Computer Science award, students will be awarded a degree from Staffordshire University.

The qualification issued upon successful completion of the course is the BSc (Hons) in Computer Science.
