The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Program is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The program will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master’s degree studies.
The duration of the Level 6 program is two semesters. Each semester consists of a minimum of 13 teaching weeks. Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the program and to allow candidates to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate program.
Gerontology is the study of ageing and how it affects the individual and society. On the University of Southampton's Master of Science in Gerontology graduates will study changes people experience as they age. They will look into the effect of an aging population on social institutions, labor markets, welfare systems and families. Students will prepare for a career in gerontology or applied health and social sciences.
