The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Program is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The program will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master’s degree studies.
The duration of the Level 6 program is two semesters. Each semester consists of a minimum of 13 teaching weeks. Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the program and to allow candidates to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate program.
The Master of Arts in Translation and Professional Communication Skills combines theoretical learning with practical exercises to develop skills graduates will need for a range of multilingual and multicultural environments. As well as working with translation theorists and practitioners, they will study with experts in cultural and literary studies, history, ethnography and anthropology. Students will gain specialist knowledge in translation, mediation and interpreting. They will be well prepared for a career in multicultural and multilingual settings.
