The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Program is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The program will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master’s degree studies.
The duration of the Level 6 program is two semesters. Each semester consists of a minimum of 13 teaching weeks. Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the program and to allow candidates to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate program.
Students will explore postcolonialism and world literature with the Master of Arts in English Literary Studies with Postcolonial and World Literatures. On completion of the course, they will be ready for a career in teaching, librarianship, museums and galleries, publishing or heritage. Graduates will get the chance to carry out advanced research and independent critical thinking, and to make effective use of archives, manuscripts, and research libraries.
