This University of South Wales Pathway College International Foundation Programme (IFP) Creative Industries prepares students for university study in the UK. It helps them develop their academic skills and improve their ability to use English in an academic context, together with building students' subject knowledge.
Studying on the International Foundation Programme – Creative Industries Pathway will allow students to explore the subject area which they have chosen for their studies at undergraduate degree level.
The module provides students with an opportunity to select an area of interest related to their progression degree and explore this in the context of academic study. Students will also be given several tasks, which help to guide them through each step of the process of developing an academic essay.
During this process, students will develop key knowledge and skills that they will need in their undergraduate degree, such as research skills, essay planning, organising ideas in a written format, and using academic sources.
Students will also have an opportunity to enhance their presentation skills by delivering a presentation on the topic of their essay in this programme.
Following the successful completion of the International Foundation Program - Creative Industries, with a pass mark of at least 40% in each module, students will progress on to the undergraduate degree programme they applied for at the University of South Wales.
