Master of Music - Music Performance

The Master of Music - Music Performance program offers students affordability and flexibility with several specialization choices and multiple thesis/non-thesis tracks to customize their plan of study. The University of South Dakota offers the only master's of music degrees in the state, and the program has been accredited though NASM since 1956 and by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.

The program provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to become a professional musician. Students can advance their vocal or instrumental skills as a musician through one-on-one mentorship. They can pursue a variety of careers in the music industry, from teaching music theory and technique to developing their own solo repertoire and performance.
