About Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Marine Science
The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) combines language, culture and academics to give students a deep understanding of life in and out of the American classroom and includes personalized English-language instruction and tutoring.
As a student in the Extended Accelerator, learner will get:
- A contextual curriculum that mixes language, culture and academics
- Exclusive access to a course focusing on life in the United States and in the local community
- A full year’s worth of college credits
- Extensive English-language tutoring, academic advising and student support
- Personalized English-language support specific to the classes they take.
Interdisciplinary in nature, the Bachelor of Science in Marine Science upon subject matter in many different fields of scientific endeavor, including geology, biology, chemistry, mathematics, environmental science, physics, engineering, environmental health and social sciences, which can be combined into an individually tailored curriculum. One cannot truly understand the organisms that live in the ocean without fully understanding their unique ocean environment.
Marine science majors take a series of core courses covering the geological, biological, chemical and physical areas of oceanography and then choose upper-level major courses to tailor the degree to their specific interests.
