At ONCAMPUS Reading, students are provided with the opportunity to prepare for degree study and are assured progression to a variety of undergraduate degrees at the University of Reading. This program is specially tailored for international students who have finished their senior secondary education, with the goal of assisting them in gaining entry into undergraduate studies at the University of Reading. The University Foundation Program is set at NQF level 3, which is equivalent to A level standard in the United Kingdom.

Most programs last for one academic year, divided into three terms consisting of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will participate in 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

The BA English Language and Linguistics course examines how language is crucial to the understanding of individuals as members of society, as individuals, and as a species.

At the University of Reading, students will join a friendly, collaborative Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics. The department is proud of its:
Established reputation in applied linguistics, having been around for nearly 60 years and offered the first linguistics degree in the UK.
Global ranking, placing in the top 150 universities in the world (QS World University Rankings by Subject, 2024).
Thriving research environment where 100% of the research is of international standing (Research Excellence Framework 2021, combining 4*, 3* and 2* submissions – Modern Languages and Linguistics).
