About Integrated Master of Science - Psychology (C803)

Psychology is defined as the scientific study of mental processes. Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the brain's structure, as well as delve into the perceptions, thoughts, feelings, and actions of individuals.

Optional modules are available in the first and third years, allowing students to explore various areas of interest. These modules can even extend beyond the field of psychology, enabling exploration of other subjects. The program boasts a diverse team of experts spanning different branches of psychology, providing students with a wide range of choices in both theoretical and applied psychology. Areas of study include forensic and clinical psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging and neuropsychology, as well as social, educational, and developmental psychology.

This course is designed as an integrated masters program. During the fourth year, students will engage in a significant research project, while the third year involves a research project as well. These projects present an invaluable opportunity for students to contribute to the transformative research conducted at Nottingham. Working closely with one of the research groups in the School of Psychology, students can explore a multitude of topics due to the broad spectrum of research interests within the department.

Past project topics have encompassed a variety of areas, such as autism, anxiety and mental health, neurodiversity, spatial cognition, addictions, dyslexia, brain imaging, food and eating, and post-traumatic growth.
