Civil engineering combines their creativity with technological and scientific knowledge that can change the world. They will learn how to design and manage high-profile projects. Working together in teams, they will learn about structures, geotechnics, materials, hydraulics and fluid mechanics, highway and transport engineering, surveying, and construction management. Additionally, as part of their course, they will have the opportunity to participate in site visits to observe civil engineering in action. They will also have access to research and laboratory facilities, including preparation and testing facilities for structures, geotechnics, and materials, a fluid mechanics teaching laboratory, state-of-the-art surveying equipment, design studios, and CAD/BIM. The Civil Engineering MEng program is the preferred route to achieving Chartered Engineer status. The courses provide the necessary engineering expertise for a career in industry or in other professions that value an analytical, creative mind.
