The cyber physical systems integrate computation with physical objects and processes. Examples of cyber physical systems include:
- ‘smart’ devices in the home like a smart meter or fridge
- medical monitoring equipment
The course is designed for students with a background in computer science or a related field with analytical skills. The principles of integrated system design and computational and cyber physical systems methods and tools will be taught.
Key topics covered will include artificial intelligence, robotics, cyber security, modelling and simulation, ethical design, and interactive systems.
A two-year masters program allows students to build a strong knowledge foundation in the first year and then apply their skills in a year-long practical or research project.
During the second year, students will undertake an individual research project, which could be software-based or research-based. Collaboration with business, industry, and other external organizations is encouraged.
