Bachelor of Arts - Art - Art History

Students who are interested in working at an art museum, cultural institution, or pursuing graduate school, they should consider an Art History major.

Art historians are adept critical thinkers, excellent writers, and keen observers. Many of University of Northern Iowa graduates work in art museums, galleries, and other creative fields. Locally, the graduates hold positions as Director of Education at the Hearst Center for the Arts, Cedar Falls, and Curator at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, Waterloo. Beyond that, grads are working at museums and cultural institutions around the country, and even abroad.

Art history majors are particularly well-equipped to add the Museum Studies Certificate to their major by adding the courses in Museum Studies and Collections, Care and Management.
