About Pre-Business - Bachelor of Science - Marketing
Marketing students will acquire the knowledge and skill sets to identify and satisfy customer needs to help organizations achieve their marketing goals. The specific topics are broadly categorized into those of Product, Pricing, Promotion and distribution strategies (Place), revolving around the understanding of consumers. Students will also learn how to conduct marketing research and apply modern marketing tools and strategies. The University of Nevada also offer a number of elective courses that fulfill more specific needs of our students.
Students who are new to The College of Business begin as "Pre-Business" Majors, rather than one of the ten Business Majors. Pre-Business Major students may not enroll in upper-division Business courses (300 or above) until they have been formally admitted to an upper-division major.
Pre-Business majors are required to complete the nine Pre-Business Core courses and obtain a 2.0+ UNR Grade Point Average to be admitted to a Business Major. Completion of the nine Pre-Business Core Classes typically takes most Pre-Business students four semesters.
