The General (BSc) degree provides diversified training, giving students broad exposure to the major areas of science at the introductory level.
The three-year General program requirements ensures students have both a breadth and depth of scientific understanding by providing them with a comprehensive education. The program consists of entry and upper-level science courses from science departments of the students choice and is flexible enough, in most departments, to allow them to choose courses that would facilitate transferring to the four-year Major.
Scientific discovery impacts society in new and unanticipated ways each day, unveiling unimagined wonders of nature and helping society to live better lives through innovative solutions. The University of Manitoba aims to share that wonder and impact broadly. The mission is to educate all students who pass through the university's doors and produce research scientists who invent a better world for everyone.
