About Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering (Program Major)
The University of Manitoba's Civil Engineering program is the oldest engineering program in Western Canada. The University of Manitoba's undergraduate program is fully accredited - all the university's graduates are eligible to become professional engineers in Canada. A co-operative education option allows students to include practical work experience in their education before graduating.
Many undergraduate courses in civil engineering have laboratory components. These labs provide hands-on experience for students and take place in specialized laboratories, including:
- engineering mechanics laboratory,
- structural and materials testing laboratories,
- hydraulics laboratory,
- geotechnical laboratory,
- environmental engineering laboratory,
- computer laboratories.
