Knowledge of the German language and culture, and European history in philosophy, art and comparative literature is an invaluable tool in today's globalized world.
This interdisciplinary program is one of the most advanced German cultural studies programs in Canada. Students in the German program will develop language competence and knowledge of texts, films and other forms of cultural representation.
The expertise of the faculty members and the interdisciplinary and intercultural curriculum rivals any other German program in the country. The University of Manitoba offers the only Honours and MA degrees in German on the Prairies.
