Program Description

At University of Liverpool, students will receive a general grounding in all aspects of Irish Studies. They will explore Irish identity and society from a number of perspectives including the historical, the linguistic, the literary and its material culture. Students then have the opportunity to choose modules in order to specialize in a specific area.

If students split the degree between French and another subject area, students will study a French language module, at beginners’ or advanced level, and a cultural module per semester, alongside two other modules in the other subject. If students combine French with a non-language subject, they will spend the Year Abroad in a French speaking country as an assistant in a school, as a student at a university or on a work placement. If they combine French with another language, they will split the year abroad between the two countries.
