With a combined Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Management (B.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree, the student can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if the student is interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites their passion, they can major in kinesiology and marketing.
Bachelor of Management - Accounting
Accountants are central to the operations and strategies of all types of organizations as well as the foundation of short- and long-term success. Accountants provide business and financial advice by measuring, analyzing, forecasting and reporting organizational performance, resources and risk. They are required to have integrity and the ability to think critically, communicate, and interact with others effectively.
Accounting students gain technical skills and learn how to address a broad range of business problems. Students will acquire and practice the skills needed for success, including writing and presenting, using professional tools and case analyses. They study financial reporting, individual and corporate taxation, business analytics and information systems, auditing, management control systems and costing, as well as variety of other management disciplines..
Bachelor of Science - Kinesiology
Kinesiology is the study of human movement through physical activity and the critical role it plays from both an individual and cultural perspective. It also helps professionals understand the mechanics of human motion.
The programs are designed to provide students with the opportunity to study the theoretical and practical applications of activity as a cultural form, as well as individual performance at all levels of involvement and all ages.
Students will also gain an understanding of movement through the integration of specialized knowledge found in topics like anatomy, biomechanics, culture, exercise physiology, leadership, media, motor control, race and ethnicity.
Students will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, with its indoor track, pool and climbing wall.
